Once A Daler, Always A Daler

Federal Funding Plan

Foundation Aid Plan

As part of the 2021-2022 State Budget, the New York State Legislature was able to include a plan to fully fund school districts Foundation Aid over the next three years. Foundation Aid represents the largest portion of our annual state aid package, approximately $19.8 million in the 2020-2021 school year. According to this new legislation the Farmingdale School District is scheduled to receive an approximate $8 million increase in foundation aid over the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 school years. Below is our plan and intended use of these additional funds in assessing student performance and needs over this three-year period.

The above plans address the immediate needs to replenish the 2020/21 budget expenses associated with the pandemic and also identifies specific initiatives to support the current K-12 program. Each funding source is available over 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 school years, and the district will continue to update these plans based on future stakeholder input and strategic planning sessions throughout the 2022/23 school year.

Information regarding stakeholder input will be shared toward the end of June via our website and ParentLink notification system. We will be inviting the community to submit ideas via Thoughtexchange.
